Create Your Own Chapter
-
Creating your own chapter builds leadership skills and creates a community of like-minded individuals.
By starting a chapter, you’ll gain hands-on experience in project management, community organizing, and health education—skills that go far beyond the classroom or workplace.
You’ll learn to lead meetings, manage volunteers, and partner with local dialysis centers, hospitals, and community organizations.
You’ll also be part of a national movement working to reduce patient isolation and raise awareness about chronic kidney disease. Through your chapter, you can host educational events, fundraisers, and patient support initiatives that make a tangible difference in your community
Each chapter operates with flexibility under the guidance of the Friends of Dialysis nonprofit—meaning you can shape your own initiatives while receiving mentorship, resources, and recognition from a supportive network of student and community leaders across the country.
Starting a chapter also opens doors to research, advocacy, and leadership opportunities, whether through quality improvement projects with dialysis centers or public health initiatives addressing kidney disease disparities.
Above all, creating a chapter allows you to make a lasting impact—empowering volunteers, uplifting patients, and transforming awareness into action.
